Amber emailed me today saying that I had 893 hits on my blog this month. Wow. And there's not really much to look at - or not much new, anyway. Blogging has always been something I'd like to do, but as you can tell, don't take the time for. I'm going to attempt once again to renew my committment to offer profound contributions to the world of blog. For me at this stage in my life, it's easy to post some of my seminary papers. I figure I spend so much time on them, I might as well give some one other than the professor the chance to read them; so don't be surprised if you see a fair share of my papers. I hope they generate some discussion, either here, or within your own communities.
I guess I might as well offer a short update of my life while I'm here. Jackie and I are still loving Seattle. We live two blocks from Lake Union and are walking distance to downtown. I enjoy taking my kayak out on the lake and enjoying the odd peace that's found paddling in a calm lake while the city and freeways bustle all around. I'm land surveying right now, and going to school at Fuller Theological Seminary part time, working towards a Masters in Divinity. It's an incredible experience. I'm also involved at All Saints Church (www.believedoubtseek.org) (Sorry it's not a cool direct link; I've forgotten the super easy way to make links since it's been forever since I've done this...) doing volunteer leadership ministry. I oversee and teach all the education and discipleship stuff right now. However, things will be changing up for me in the fall. Jackie just graduated from SPU with her degree in Special Education and Elementary Ed. She landed an incredible job in the Bellevue School district, working at Somerset Elementary School. She's going to be so great. For my part, All Saints has offered me a position as the second pastor at the church. Right now, there are about 200 people with one full time pastor. We're at the place where we need another pastor to really focus well on the ministry of the church. So, I've been called to come on as an associate pastor, beginning in September. What's even cooler is that they are enabling me to go to school full time, and work at the church part time in order to finish my degree in a much more timely fashion (in two years from now, as oppose to four). We're so excited for the ability for me to finally really focus on school and practical ministry. It's going to be an amazing time.
Well, that's all you're getting for now. Hopefully when you check back here again at some point there will be some interesting stuff to read.
