i am alive.
my blog is alive.

I have been pretty busy the last few weeks.

Both Tom and I are moved into seperate new places. It has been a great adventure to get Tom into his own place. He is now living in a studio apartment in SE Portland. Its a nice place. Great people, great location. All of the people that live in the building are all 62+. The management plan cool events for the people. Train trips through the Gorge, bus rides to the farmer's markets, ice cream in the lobby. It is a good community for Tom to be in. There are plenty of people that are willing to be his friend, and my hope is that he will welcome the graciousness. Plus, $163 a month. Who woulda guessed?
I am sure I will have more to update on that...if anyone wants to know more, feel free to ask.

I am also living alone now. A little studio up on Marquam Hill. A smaller apartment than Tom even!! Its a nice location, quiet, close to downtown, great views. Lots of medical students living around me.

I am off to London next week for a conference...its called "Bridges". The conference connects the disciplines of math, art, music and science. It will be a good time. Plus, its London. That won't suck.
Because of the nature of the conference, PNCA is helping with the cost, which is great. I am hoping to grab as much as I can and bring it back to the classroom in the fall and spring. PNCA is a great place that has been an encouragement for me to be me and open up opportunities for me to teach math in a way that makes sense to me, and hopefully this next generation of artists. Anyways, London in 10 days or so. Get your tour guide skills ready Pete.

So, for those of you that were playing the schmicroprizing game, it will continue. Like I said, I was moving Tom and moving myself, and I had a couple of incompetent comcast guys trying to hook up my cable, which postponed everything a couple of weeks also. So, sorry to take so long. Things will happen more steadily, hopefully.

Oh, and I am writing this on a new MacBook, which may help the productivity....more on that later.
